Week 2 (Day 8-14): "Lock housing + cashflow"
Learn healthcare basics: urgent care vs ER
Healthcare in America can destroy you financially if you don't know the rules. Urgent care is for fevers, coughs, small cuts ($150-250). The ER is ONLY for life-threatening emergencies ($1,500-3,000+). Right now, open your map app and save the nearest urgent care and 24-hour pharmacy. You'll thank yourself later.
Healthcare in the U.S. is very expensive if you go to the wrong place. You must learn the difference between "Urgent Care" and the "Emergency Room (ER)."
- Go to urgent care for minor problems like a fever, a bad cough, or a small cut that needs stitches. Most visits cost between $150 and $250 if you don't have insurance. They are much faster than a hospital.
- Only go to the Emergency Room (ER) if your life is in danger. This is for things like chest pain or major accidents.A single visit can cost $1,500 to $3,000 or even more.
- Open your map app right now. Find the nearest Urgent Care and the nearest 24-hour Pharmacy (like CVS or Walgreens). Save them to your favorites so you don't have to search during an emergency.
