Week 4 (Day 22-30): "Stability + safety baseline"
Build a minimum cash buffer target (even $200-$500 to start)
You need cash for emergencies—lost transit cards, urgent repairs, unexpected costs. Save $200-500 as fast as possible. Put it in a separate savings account you can access instantly. Look at your spending: can you skip one meal out this week? That money goes into your emergency buffer today.
Even if you are saving for a big goal, you need a small amount of cash for "right now" problems.
- You should try to save $200–$500 as soon as possible.
- This is your "Emergency Buffer." If you lose your transit card or need a quick repair, you can pay for it without using a credit card.
- Look at your first month of spending. Can you skip one meal out? Put that extra cash into a separate savings account today.
